In the summer of 2014, Nare was traveling through England with her Mother when they were given the suggestion to visit Germany by her mothers best friend (Emill’s Aunt). Upon arriving in Germany they ended up visiting Emill’s Family and staying with them for 8 days. In that time, Nare and Emill fell madly in love with each other and though they left each other not knowing when and where they would meet again, they knew in their hearts this was meant to be.
It must have been serendipity that brought us together. We spent nearly 3.5 years in a Long Distance Relationship, spending anywhere from 3-8 months apart. Given that we didn’t live in the same country, traveling became the outlet that would bring us together. We have since visited 11 countries.
In this time Emill had a lot of trouble getting a visa to visit the USA. After coming in the winter of 2015 and going through so much trouble with homeland security (because of unknown reasons), he has since not been able to enter the country again. Knowing that he wouldn’t be able to come to the US to propose to Nare, he planned a proposal in his home town where they fell in love. According to Emill he’s been planning our proposal since we met, but it realistically took him about 3 months to plan and organize every detail of the proposal!

Months ago we planned to go see the titanic in theaters when Nare was to visit Germany in December 2017. (We had never been to the movies together haha!) Given that Emill is a film and photography expert, he decided that he would make the proposal into a movie and make it the best first movie date ever. It took 3 hours of make up, 4 days of shooting and an entire team of friends and family to put the pieces together. Meanwhile, he had to choose the perfect theater that would allow the screening of a proposal as well as choosing the perfect engagement ring.

On our way to the theater Nare was so clueless that she was about to say yes to the man of her dreams! About 5 minutes into the trailers Emill left for the “bathroom” and thats when the proposal began on the big screen. With the combination of aging special effects make up, to changing his voice over, it took her a while to realize what was going on! To say the least, it was one of the happiest days of our lives. Nare was totally surprised, everything worked out perfectly and we were surrounded by our closest friends and family.
